Valentine's Day: Short Story

The Handome Boy At The Club

It was Saturday evening on a warm summers evening when I walked into the new club building. I had been invited to this club by my best friend, Mara, and at first I had refused to come as I wouldn't know anybody but at last i gave up and promised i'd go.
The club was for boys and girls and they would have a meal together then play games, and have activities and discussions together.
When I walked into the room my eyes fell on this boy. He had short curly light brown hair, and shiny blue eyes. He had to have been the most handsome boy I had ever met. I couldn't keep my eyes off him, and I suddenly wanted to know his name and go up to him and talk.
Mara waved at me from a sofa and with a sigh I went over to her and sat down next to her.
"Hiya Mara." I said, still looking at the handsome boy.
"He's rarther handsome. All the girls have a crush on him. I used to like him myself." Mara said, looking over at the boy too.
"Who? What?" I asked, looking at Mara, with a puzzled look on my face.
"Peter. The boy you were looking at. I'm not stupid you know. I noticed you couldn't keep your eyes off him for the past five minutes you've been here. He's really nice.... i'll call him over and introduce you to him." Mara said.
I blushed and tried to persuade her not to, but she had already called Peter and he was comming over.
"Hi Peter. This is my friend that I told you about. Rosie, this is Peter, Peter this is Rosie." Mara smiled.
Peter smiled at Rosie and she smiled back blushing.
"So, you are new here then? Do you want me to introduce you to the others?" Peter asked.
I was about to open my mouth and say Mara was going to, but Mara smiled and pushed me foreward.
"That would be a great idea. A great way for you to get to know each other." Mara said.
I made a face and Mara giggled.
"I'll come with you, to make sure you don't do anything that is not sensible." Mara said.
I blushed again.
Peter smiled and took my hand.
I quickly pulled away and blushed again.
"Now, Rosie. That is no way to treat a gentleman." Mara said.
I felt so embarresed, but I refused to take his hand and the three of us went round the room and I was introduced to everyone. But i still couldn't keep my eyes of the handsome boy standing beside me.
