In His Arms (Short Story)

Seventeen year old Elizabeth  groaned  as she stared at the word document on her computer, where she had only written the title and first sentence to her new story. She had woken up early with a great idea of a story, about a young girl who lived on the street,  and when she had finally got dressed and opened up her word document she had not even been able to write the first paragraph. She sighed and stared at her computer screen, waiting for some idea to jump into her mind but noting came. She sighed and got rid of her first sentence, then after looking around her bedroom she started to re-type the sentence.

"No.. I don't like it." Elizabeth said aloud to herself, "Its not right. It's no good... no good at all."
She leaned back in her chair trying to think how to start the story, for the 100th time. But each time she started she sighed and deleted what she had just written. Why did she have no idea how to write this story? The idea she had had was brilliant.
Elizabeth leaned back in her seat, and closed her eyes.
Just then her iphone buzzed and she quickly opened her eyes and grabbed her phone. She had received a text message from Mark, her best friend.
The text message said: "Hey Lizzie, In Libary. Come and meet me? Help me study then we can go to Starbucks for a drink. I'll pay."
Elizabeth smiled and sent a text message back saying, "I'll be there as soon as I can. Just need to change into something more... ummm... suitable."
"You'll look lovley no matter what you wear." was Mark's reply.
Elizabeth blushed and quickly sent a reply, "Haha.. right. I'll be there in 10 minutes."
Elizabeth closed her computer, grabbed her notebook and her purse and stuffed them into her bag then she quickly picked out a dress and changed. And soon she was out the door and running down the road towards the libary.
When she arrived she found Mark sitting at a table studying and not wanting to interupt him, took this as a great opportunity to take a quick picture of him on her phone.
"Taking a secret picture are we?"
Elizabeth turned around, quickly, and standing behind her was one of her classmates, Toby Racks.
Mark looked up and saw Elizabeth standing there, holding her phone, and her cheeks bright red with embarresment.
"Why shouldn't I take a picuture if i want. Mark is my boyfriend!" Elizabeth snapped.
Toby rolled his eyes, opened his mouth to say something, caught Elizabeth's look and turned around and quickly hurried off to the other side of the libary.
"You didn't have to be so harsh, Lizzie. A couple of people were looking at us." Mark said, with a smile.
Elizabeth shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes but she said nothing, but just sat down in an empty seat beside Mark.
"You can take a proper picture of me, if you like." Mark said.
Elizabeth blushed and looked down at her phone.
"You can stare at it, and admire how handsome I am, when you are in your bedroom later." Mark said.
Elizabeth slapped him playfully on the arm.
"Umm... right... want to help me study? I have a text in science on Monday and need to cram in some studying." Mark said.
Mark took out his textbook and excercise book and handed them to Elizabeth.
"If you want me to... but I know nothing about the whole science so I won't know if you answer correctly." Elizabeth said.
"I have my answers in my exercise book. Come on, I'm ready to be tested and quized. Throw a question at me." Mark said.
Elizabeth opened the books and looked at Mark's notes, trying to stop herself from yawning. She had woken up early, and was now beginning to feel tired and sleepy.
"Wake up.. sleepy head." Mark joked.
Elizabeth looked up at Mark with an eyebrow raised.
"What did you say?" she asked, with a slight yawn.
"Awww, my baby is sleepy. Come here, dear." Mark teased.
Elizabeth grinned and came over to Mark's side.
Mark pulled her onto his lap and kissed her on the cheek lovingly. Elizabeth sighed happily, and closed her eyes and before she knew it she had fallen asleep in Mark's arms.
Mark smiled down at the sleeping girl in his lap and kissed her on the cheek again.
"I love you, Lizzie, and I'll always love you." Mark whispered.
Mark ran a hand through Elizabeth's black hair and looked down at her face lovingly. She looked so pretty and peaceful sleeping there and he didn't want to wake her up.
Mark sat there watching Elizabeth sleep, and was soon lost in his little world of admiring Elizabeth and dreaming of maybe one day raising a family with her.
