Movie Review: Inside Out (2015)

Movie Review
Inside Out (2015)
From Disney Pixar
Cast - Amy Poehler, Bill Hader

My rating - 9/10

This movie was unbelievably good. Everyone expects animated movies to be just for 8 year olds and to be full of slapstick. At least, I did. And I've never been more wrong.

Inside Out follows 11 year old Riley and her five emotions - Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust. As Riley moves from Minnesota to San Francisco, she is going through a lot and we get a look inside her head as Joy tries to keep her happy, and all the other emotions try to do their jobs. But things don't go very smoothly.

I was surprised at how this movie actually gives a valuable lesson. Throughout the movie, one thought that might be going through our heads is, "What is the purpose of Sadness?" As Joy explains in the beginning of the movie, everything seems to have a purpose except for Sadness. Its at the end that you finally realize what that purpose is. And that's when your tears flow.

I cried myself to sleep the night I saw this movie.

No, it doesn't have a sad ending. It's as happy as any animated movie. But it's so heart-touching. Pixar has really outdone itself with Inside Out. I am very impressed. It's so much better than all the other over-rated trash out there (like Minions). Why can't they make more movies like this?

This one is a must watch for children, teens and adults like. When you finish watching this, trust me, the tears are worth it. And I promise you, they are not sad tears; they are happy ones.
